PAGILAS, Philippines – Bien Carpio totally had a blast working with the cast and crew of the movie ‘Lilay, Darling Of The Crowd’, screened in theaters in November 2010. A film by Andrew Kho. Topbilled by Kenjie Garcia and Julian Roxas.
Carpio’s steamy scenes with another man seems to be the marketing strategy of most Filipino gay indie films nowadays. But the character actor doesn’t mind at all.
It was a job assigned to me and as an actor, I have to be professional. I don’t let negative things get in the way. I just do my job. Carpio made himself clear.
After doing Lilay, he worked with Director Ron Sapinoso in the short film Pagmamahal. The story was very realistic and grounded. Simplicity just the way Sapinoso wanted it to be.
We came to ask Carpio on how it was working with Sapinoso.
He’s very demanding on the set. You know, if it’s in the script, then you’re gonna have to stick to it. And when it comes to your acting, Ron Sapinoso is very technical. He’s not like okay that’s okay we’ll just edit it or you know, work some stuff on post, he’s not like that. He wants to get it right when filming. Carpio revealed.
So after Lilay and Pagmamahal, what’s next on Bien Carpio?
I’m gonna be in All About Adam season one. It’s kind of an interesting role. I’m the arch nemesis of one of the Adams. And I’m one of the models of Janina Kapoor. he told us.
Who’s the Adam that you’re going to mess up with?
Hmmm… you’re gonna have to watch the show to find out.
Who is Janina Kapoor?
Janina Kapoor is a former model and the one who owns a big time modeling agency. She’s played by Reena Rae. Bien continued.
So did you go sexy in this series? Everybody knows that it’s a sexy drama series.
Yeah… quite a bit. I mean, we’re all sexy in this show. Hahaha. the naughty model turned actor grinned.
So how’s it like working with Migui Moreno?
I haven’t worked with Migui yet. And yes, I know that he’s the star of the show but we haven’t done any scene yet. Actually, I’m looking forward to filming scenes with him. I know that he’s a very great actor.
And how’s it like working with Julius Roden?
You know that good thing about this business is that we get to work with different people. I’m very impressed. Director Ron Sapinoso can be very demanding as a director but Julius Roden, he’s very cool on the set. I mean, he doesn’t shout or yell like other directors do, but he can get to you and bring out the best in you without doing those, you know. It was actually great. Carpio smiled.
Bien Carpio is also busy working with Stunning Models – his own modeling agency and physical preparations with his upcoming film for 2012 release.
