PAGILAS, Philippines - All About Adam star Philipp Dunkel is definitely happy about the steadiness of his career in Pagilas despite of the delayed airing of All About Adam season one.

There are so many blessings coming his way. The debut album of United by Fate release this year, concert gigs, upcoming movies and endorsements. As a matter of fact, he and his All About Adam co-star Karlo Manalo are endorsing a brand new shampoo and conditioner for men coming out in 2011.

All About Adam may not make it to conventional television in the Philippines but it will surely make its way to cybervision - which is by the way the future of television and Dunkel believes in Roden's work.


Dunkel told us that he will always be devoted to underground music and independent filmmakers. He added that ten years from now, he may no longer make movies, who knows what the future holds, but he would still want to keep his band United by Fate.

It's not music that brought him and his bandmates altogether, but rather it's their unity that makes it up for music.

When asked about his love life, the 22-year-old Filipino-German artist keeps his mum. He prefers not talking about it. That he is fully aware of being a public property when you are in this industry but there are still stuff that you have full power to control over and make it private as it should be, he shared with us.

Moreover, the fans have been extremely supportive, should we add all the way if it doesn't become redundant?

According to our insider, producer Julius Roden will never allow any tv network to mess up with his creation by having the cast changed or its integrity humiliated reaching some other audience with its message massively distorted.

The All About Adam creator, producer, writer and director said he used to get worried about the fans waiting for the airing of season one. But if it's meant to happen, things will always fall into place.

It is now absolutely part of history in Philippine Television that All About Adam movie pilot aggressively and bravely proved that stereotype Filipino tv shows can be just the way it is but it doesn't stop, particularly, Julius Roden from expanding, innovating and thinking outside the box.

The good start happened in 2010 when IBC 13 aired its movie pilot topbilled by Migui Moreno, Philipp Dunkel, Jeffrey Canlas and Michael Ignacio.

Fortunately, technology has its evolution and this has certainly opened convenient venues for movie producers.

In the meantime, Philipp Dunkel is getting ready for his movie Analysis Overload with Aimee dela Pena. Written, produced and directed by Julius Roden under Pagilas Pictures.

Ayuda Force gives full force to Migui Moreno's solo album

PAGILAS, Philippines – In spite of Cy-Vision Records not fully disclosing details of Migui Moreno’s solo album for his comeback in the music scene, Pagilas Insider Derek Dean has gathered tidbits of information.

It was mentioned in Derek Dean’s Caralibro portal that Cy-Vision CEO Julius Roden finally got a return call from the guitarist of the happy metal chuva kikay core rock band Ayuda Force – Monchie Monch, giving the collaboration with Migui Moreno a nod.

However, it is known in the Underground Music Industry that Ayuda Force is a pop rock band. As a matter of fact, the band’s hit song ‘Emily Romance’ is all over cyberspace. Not to mention its nomination in the 2011 World Music and Independent Film Festival.

The question is that ‘Is Migui Moreno trying to follow the footsteps of his fellow Adam – Philipp Dunkel?’

Moreno’s fans have been tweeting nonstop regarding his comeback in the music scene and having rock songs in his album doesn’t seem to fit his image. Moreover, one female fan opined that should their idol return with a solo album after his long hiatus from Idolzone, it better be ballad.

Pagilas Insider tried to get confirmation from Julius Roden if the rumors were true but the Pagilas producer keeps mum.

According to some sources, Moreno’s solo album is definitely not mimicking Philipp Dunkel’s genre in the music scene.

It was reported last year that Migui Moreno and Philipp Dunkel had some differences on the set of All About Adam.

During their presscon with TV5 in 2010, both actors denied it even though it was obvious there was really something going on since the two Adam stars were never seated next to each other.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that Ayuda Force guitarist Monchie Monch spoke with Julius Roden about the collaboration for Migui Moreno’s songs.

We just have to wait and see if Migui Moreno’s solo album will have heavy metal rock songs in it. Because if it will, this will surely be a major flop and not good for his comeback in the music scene.

Migui Moreno to serenade his fans once again

PAGILAS, Philippines -Former member of the 90′s OPM boy band – Migui Moreno, is returning with a solo album under C-Vision records. Despite of being hailed as one of the sexiest men in Pagilas in 2010 and 2011, Migui Moreno remains humble and magnanimous in all endeavor.

During his Idolzone days, OPM dominated the airwaves and everything was way different back then. He was the main vocal of the group and fans just couldn’t get enough of them. It was also the time when he was paired with Meryl Soriano in many local movies under Regal Films and OctoArts Films.

However, when Pagilas producer Julius Roden cast Migui Moreno as the main star of All About Adam, a smash hit television movie aired on IBC in 2010, the big change on this latest phase of his career has been unstoppable.

Migui Moreno has become a sex symbol after portraying the tomcat character Paulo Morales in All About Adam. Not only that, having worked with great directors like Soxie Topacio and Tony Espejo in New Yorker in Tondo, The Martyr of Golgota, El Filibusterismo and Florante y Laura and other several stage plays in Gantimpala Theater and PETA Theater, made him one of the finest actors in this era.

Fans no longer see him as the cute boy-next-door with his band mates singing pop ballad and making teenage girls go gaga whenever they have concerts and tours.

According to our sources, Migui Moreno’s music in his new CD is way different from Idolzone. It’s more of being the man he has become. It’s very solemn yet wild and exciting.

His manager Carliza Africa couldn’t be happier since producer Julius Roden believes in Moreno so much.

Fans can hardly wait and it seems like there is a major party coming right up and Migui Moreno is absolutely back in the game.

Dillan Valitz feels a sigh of relief as Pagilas sends its apology to Jerepee Azul

PAGILAS, Philippines – The female lead vocal of Cold Portrait – Dillan Valitz thought there was going to be a big problem between Pagilas and Jerepee Azul of J-Azul Pilipinas Production. It happened last week when one writer from Pagilas posted a featured article for Dillan Valitz with the singer’s photo taken by Azul and yet the signature mark of J-Azul Pilipinas Production was nowhere to be found on every corner of the image.

Other photographers who are friends with Azul read the story and noticed the picture being used on the said featured article. However, when they found out that the signature mark was somehow erased digitally, they immediately reported the situation to the authority.

J-Azul Pilipinas Production called Valitz to fix the mess. The cheerful make-up tutorial host on cyberspace told her Caralibro portal to reach the staff of Pagilas and do something about it. The young artist, who is also a fourth year nursing student, got worried since she didn’t want to cause any problem at all.

A representative from J-Azul Pilipinas Production opined it was very disrespectful of them to simply remove the signature mark of the company without even thinking about the consequences or how the artist would feel as a human being. They thought it was very rude and that other photographers would’ve agreed and felt the same way.

Furthermore, these artists work so hard, rain or shine, just to come up with beautiful photos despite of the fact that they don’t charge a lot including their models so to speak. Even if they are sleepless, hungry and all that, they do their job professionally. And having their photographs used by some bloggers without permission, the least credit that they definitely deserve is to let the public acknowledge their names. Removing their signature mark on their photos is total humiliation and disrespect.

Photographers connected to Jerepee Azul spoke up their minds.

However, Pagilas took damage control and fixed the mess right away.

The original image of Dillan Valitz with the signature mark of J-Azul Pilipinas Production had been uploaded with photographer Jerepee Azul’s name credited next to it.

There is no excuse for what had happened. The best thing to do is to fix the problem, acknowledge the photographer and continue vibrating that ecstatic positive energy.

Pagilas sends out its public apology to Jerepee Azul and to all the wonderful people in J-Azul Pilipinas Production.

Because of this, Cold Portrait’s Dillan Valitz couldn’t be happier.

It is a fact that Philipp Dunkel is not just another icon from the underground scene. Drew Barrymore and Neve Campbell still the queens of Scream

PAGILAS, Hollywood – Slasher film director Wes Craven brings back his Scream films to moviegoers of the new generation. The fourth installment opened in theaters worldwide in May 2011 with its original cast Courtney Cox (Gale Weathers), David Arquette (Dewey Riley) and Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott). Plus Hollywood starlets and Oscar Best Actress winner Anna Paquin.

The story brings Sidney Prescott back to her hometown Woodsboro to start life a new and to get herself out of darkness.

Scream 4 is an okay movie for a popcorn horror flick but if you review its pacing, it felt like Neve Campbell was coaching young co-stars every now and then as they try to escape the brandishing knife of Mr. Ghostface.

There is a scene that paid tribute to Drew Barrymore’s Casey Becker in the original Scream. Kirby (Hayden Panettiere) had to answer the killer’s questions over her mobile phone in order to save Charlie (Rory Culkin) who was tied up on a chair just like Steve Orth (Casey Becker’s boyfriend). However, before it happened, Sidney and Kirby ran downstairs and were looking for the latter’s friends.

Then, Kirby, who seemed to be having Sidney’s assistance in that scene, saw Charlie attacked by the killer and bleeding through the patio and got terrified. She didn’t know if she could trust him then, Sidney told her not to open the door if she can’t trust him. I thought that scene was like having Sidney as Kirby’s mentor or something.

But the rest was fun and entertaining. I love the part when Jill (Emma Roberts) got served. Best line in the movie: You forgot something about remakes, Jill. Don’t fuck with the original. Had Tatum not been killed, she would’ve told her best friend “Bam Sidney, super bitch!”

Furthermore, I was hoping Anna Paquin would have the same brutal opening kill like Drew Barrymore’s. It would’ve been kick-ass.

There should’ve been some sex scene with Emma Roberts and Nico Tortorella.

Some fans continue to discuss who is the new Drew Barrymore in Scream 4? For me, you can never replace the Drew Barrymore opening scene. Not even Julia Roberts joining the Scream gang. It’s classic.

Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu’s co-star in the movie Charlie’s Angels may had been catty to Wes Craven when she demanded to play Casey Becker instead of Sidney Prescott before filming the original Scream in 1996, but it turned out to be a cinematic shock in Hollywood. Everybody thought she was going to be in the whole film something like Drew Barrymore and Neve Campbell as Casey Becker and Sidney Prescott, best friends, running around, screaming as Mr. Ghostface attacks them both.Something like Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Pagilas Hollywood reporters confirmed that Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox signed for two more installments. Does it sound ridiculous Scream 5 and Scream 6?

Oh well. If money keeps coming in, why would the producers shut it down?

Haphazard releases multi-tracked record in 2011

PAGILAS, Philippines – Nelissa Garnodo, Justice Olivar, MM Gigante with two new members Beloy Mora (Guitarist) and Ronan Saligumba (Bassist) , altogether known as Haphazard, are back with their songs recorded in multi-track for 2011 release.

These songs are Churvaloo, Kaibigan and My First Love Song which are part of the sountrack of All About Adam movie pilot when it aired on IBC in 2010.

Looking way back in 2010, Haphazard performed live at Metro Bar with Urban Dub. The band was blissful to be on stage and to sing their songs to a huge throng of crowd. Ten times bigger and wider than Dayo and Freedom Bar.

MM, the vocalist, couldn’t thank the fans enough who came just to watch the show.

Haphazard was supposed to shoot their music video for My First Love Song to be directed by Julius Roden. But Ses was five months pregnant at that time so they had to decline other gigs and mini concerts. Also, MM didn’t want to rush her bandmates just to produce their video and have it on cyberspace. She wanted to take things slowly but surely.

However, Haphazard tries to be professional by performing at their mini concert at Freedom Bar in December 2010. Despite of Ses’ condition, they made it and did what they had to do since they already signed a contract and the producers didn’t want to cancel the back to back mini concert.

Moreover, Haphazard is officially under Pagilas Entertainment Records.

In April 2011, they held auditions in search for new members to (temporarily) replace Ses Gigante. Thus they’ve taken in Beloy and Ronan. MM believes that these guys are meant to be part of the band.

Nevetheless, what the fans really want now is to hear their great songs on the radio. Nelissa, their guitarist, assured the fans that it’s going to happen not too soon and before they know it’s coming, Haphazard has already taken over.

The song ‘My First Love Song’ will be included in the ‘All About Adam’ CD with all of its sountrack in the movie pilot.

Mehdi Nejadgholami talks about his role in Offense

PAGILAS, Philippines – Someone has chosen to tell a different story. Allowing this mystery is change. Yes, that’s right. That is the latest slogan of writer, producer and director Julius Roden’s latest horror film for Halloween 2011 presentation.

One of the cast members is Mehdi Nejadgholami who plays Dale.

He has appeared in several independent films; the latest was ‘Brod’ topbilled by Jess Mendoza Nicole Andrew Guila Neil Tibayan Patrick Esteban Venj Pellena. Directed by Ray Gibraltar.

The Filipino-Iranian actor is  also the commercial model of Wendy’s, HSBC and Joel Cruz’s perfumes. He did a lot of commercials before joining the movies.

Pagilas Insider Sasha Mortel was able to get an interview during the story conference of the movie Offense.
Could you tell us something about your character in this movie?

I play Dale. I’m friends with Mickey (Joseph Ison) and Jacob (Andrew Schimmer) and we did something really really bad in this movie. he teased us with this tidbit.

What was that bad thing that you did in the film?

I’m sorry. I can’t spill more details. All I can say is that this movie is a must see movie for all women in the whole world. Definitely. he guaranteed.

So did you have man to man bed scenes in this movie? You see, most indie films nowadays…

You know, that’s what happened to our indie films in the Philippines. We’ve been typecast and most people, whenever they hear something like indie films, you know what I’m saying? That ‘indie film’ thing, what comes to mind? They think about something like ‘oh it’s another gay film’. Don’t get me wrong. Just because I’m saying this it would suggest that I have something against the gay community. I don’t, okay? It’s just that I think we have to sort of, you know, try to balance the kind of movies we produce. But then again, I’m just an actor and I’m just here to do my job. I mean, my last film ‘Brod’, it had gay theme in it so… but this one, it’s not another gay indie film, it’s a suspense-thriller and I think our beloved writer, producer and director Julius Roden, he’s a genius. I thought the script was amazing. the former model of Monaco shared with us with full sincerity.

But you’ve already worked with Roden in All About Adam season one, right?

Oh yes I have. We’ve shot some scenes for a couple of episodes. I really thought he’s brilliant and he doesn’t shout at his actors like what most directors do. I mean, well, every director has their own technique in getting to their actors. Julius Roden is cool. He has this unique way in getting to you and bring out the best in you to make you really do your part well for a particular scene. So yeah… he added.

How’s it like working with Andrew Schimmer?

It was cool. He’s very professional and fun to work with. Very accessible. And everything turned out just fine on the set. It was great. Mehdi Nejadgholami smiled as he closed the interview with Sasha Mortel.

MM Gigante believes everything happens for a reason

PAGILAS, Philippines – Haphazard vocalist MM Gigante feels so blessed and thankful to her family, friends and fans for the support.

Recently, her younger sister and bandmate – Ses Gigante gave birth to a healthy baby boy whom they gave a nickname ‘Siopao’.

Indeed, there is sunshine after the rain. MM really had a hard time with everything that happened in 2010 but still managed to hold her head up high in order to have her bandmates Justice and Nelissa keep the faith.

MM, whose full name is Maria Melissa Balboa Gigante, wants her band to go full blast with several gigs, concert tours, out of town shows and most importantly to reach as many people as possible to receive the message of their songs.

This is not impossible since they’ve just recorded for their debut album to be released in 2011.
Moreover, early this year, she joined the Peta Musical Theatre Batch Six.

While having a great time with her newly found career as a stage actress, she and her bandmates held auditions to recruit new members as Ses Gigante (temporarily) had to leave the band and focus on being a mom to ‘Siopao’.

The two new members are Beloy Mora and Ronan Saligumba. MM felt as though these two cool guys were the ones they had been looking for. Turns out the pretty and smart vocalist of Haphazard was so right about their decisions.

My First Love Song is one of the songs included in the soundtrack of the smash hit television movie pilot All About Adam. Haphazard is now getting ready for their music video and is so excited to know the response of the public.

Meanwhile, Churvaloo is one of the soundtracks of the independent film ‘Thank You Girls’.

PAGILAS, Philippines – United By Fate bassist Ronnel Rosales recently lost his mobile phone when a thug came and snatched it just like that. He felt really bad after the incident that happened in Timog, Quezon City.

According to our reliable source, the underground rock artist had been keeping that number for six years. There is nothing wrong with being sentimental in this sense since having it that long, it was convenient. Not to mention that all his friends and business contacts are required to delete it and replace it with his new number.

It may sound shallow but it’s not nice to lose something special.

For all reasons we do not want to expand this topic and bash those responsible for the security and safety of every citizen walking in the streets of Metro Manila. It’s definitely discouraging; particularly, to Filipinos as well as tourists who plan to visit the Philippines.

After several successful concerts in Manila, abroad as well as her box office hit local movies, there is nothing wrong with Sarah Geronimo wanting to widen her horizon and dream on getting in to Hollywood.

Of course, Sarah Geronimo has already established her international market in her own right but only to those Filipinos abroad and perhaps, to some few southeast Asian people.

All those articles on the internet reporting that David Foster loves Sarah Geronimo and thought the collaboration would be great, it could be exaggerated so to speak, but that’s not the point. The point is don’t we want another Filipino singer to make it to Hollywood? Give her a break.

Should Americans find Sarah Geronimo appealing, then there she goes in her journey to Hollywood. The American people are still the ones who will decide if they are buying a Sarah Geronimo artist or not. So in other words, just allow her to have expansion.

I’m sure Lucy Liu was so proud when Zhang Zi Yi, Gong Li, Shu Qi, Maggie Q and other Chinese actresses made it to Hollywood.

Ethigma sacks Jeffrey Canlas

PAGILAS, Philippines – In the underground music scene, rock band Ethigma confirmed that Jeffrey Canlas is no longer their vocalist. It’s been months since the latter got dismissed by his bandmates.

 As a matter of fact, their supposed mini concert at Freedom Bar was cancelled because according to our reliable source, the band could no longer tolerate Canlas’ direction in music.

Ethigma had several participations in JOCTV underground gigs and San Miguel Beer Rock Bands’ Festivals. The band was doing just fine with their progressive genre. They sometimes played hardcore rock but never heavy metal. Then the differences began when Jeffrey Canlas became bossy and wanted to change directions.

In 2010, Ethigma briefly appeared on the movie pilot of All About Adam on IBC 13. They wanted to film while singing their rock songs but Canlas insisted on having ‘Release’ in that particular scene.

This upset his bandmates because Ethigma actually wanted to be a heavy metal rock band but with Canlas being somewhat a dictator among them, it became a hindrance.

In December 2010, Jeffrey Canlas confirmed that his band wanted to take a different direction and not his. In spite of everything, Jeffrey attended the concert of his All About Adam co-star and friend, Philipp Dunkel at Freedom Bar in Quezon City.

Rumors also came out that the reason behind Ethigma sacking Canlas was due to drinking problems and failed several times to rehearse with them for gigs and mini concerts.

Pagilas Insider’s Derek Dean tried to reach Jeffrey Canlas’ manager but the latter’s camp keeps mum.

Bien Carpio on Lilay, Pagmamahal and Ron Sapinoso

PAGILAS, Philippines – Bien Carpio totally had a blast working with the cast and crew of the movie ‘Lilay, Darling Of The Crowd’, screened in theaters in November 2010. A film by Andrew Kho. Topbilled by Kenjie Garcia and Julian Roxas.

Carpio’s steamy scenes with another man seems to be the marketing strategy of most Filipino gay indie films nowadays. But the character actor doesn’t mind at all.

It was a job assigned to me and as an actor, I have to be professional. I don’t let negative things get in the way. I just do my job. Carpio made himself clear.

After doing Lilay, he worked with Director Ron Sapinoso in the short film Pagmamahal. The story was very realistic and grounded. Simplicity just the way Sapinoso wanted it to be.

We came to ask Carpio on how it was working with Sapinoso.

He’s very demanding on the set. You know, if it’s in the script, then you’re gonna have to stick to it. And when it comes to your acting, Ron Sapinoso is very technical. He’s not like okay that’s okay we’ll just edit it or you know, work some stuff on post, he’s not like that. He wants to get it right when filming. Carpio revealed.

So after Lilay and Pagmamahal, what’s next on Bien Carpio?

I’m gonna be in All About Adam season one. It’s kind of an interesting role. I’m the arch nemesis of one of the Adams. And I’m one of the models of Janina Kapoor. he told us.

Who’s the Adam that you’re going to mess up with?

Hmmm… you’re gonna have to watch the show to find out.

Who is Janina Kapoor?

Janina Kapoor is a former model and the one who owns a big time modeling agency. She’s played by Reena Rae. Bien continued.

So did you go sexy in this series? Everybody knows that it’s a sexy drama series.

Yeah… quite a bit. I mean, we’re all sexy in this show. Hahaha. the naughty model turned actor grinned.
So how’s it like working with Migui Moreno?

I haven’t worked with Migui yet. And yes, I know that he’s the star of the show but we haven’t done any scene yet. Actually, I’m looking forward to filming scenes with him. I know that he’s a very great actor. 

And how’s it like working with Julius Roden?

You know that good thing about this business is that we get to work with different people. I’m very impressed. Director Ron Sapinoso can be very demanding as a director but Julius Roden, he’s very cool on the set. I mean, he doesn’t shout or yell like other directors do, but he can get to you and bring out the best in you without doing those, you know. It was actually great. Carpio smiled.

Bien Carpio is also busy working with Stunning Models – his own modeling agency and physical preparations with his upcoming film for 2012 release.

Manie Magbanua wants to share his painting of light with his dogs

PAGILAS, Philippines – Award winning cinematographer Manie Magbanua just learned recently that dogs are color blind. The cheerful director of photography of Storyline – a documentary program on ABS CBN, had his heart broken after receiving this information. It was posted on his facebook wall. His friends commented sympathetically.

As we all know, cinematographers paint movies with light. Quite in fact, Hollywood filmmaker, writer and director of Kill Bill – Quentin Tarantino once said ‘your director of photography is  your bitch’.

Friends of Manie Magbanua understand that he loves his dogs so much that he got extremely affected upon realizing that they can’t see the beautiful world he sees.

On the other hand, who are we to say that dogs can’t see colors? Dogs’ chromatic acuity is significantly less than humans. Maybe the human eye is also exaggerated that it creates illusion called colors or whatsoever. The point is that everything is beautiful and each one of us creates a reality others would only perceive in one level. And that level is called words. Other than that, the rest is owned and seen only by the creator.

Dogs may not see colors but they can hear sounds not audible to human beings nor to other life forms here in this time space reality. As a matter of fact, Mariah Carey’s highest whistle register still sounds low to all dogs. Sounds funny but it’s so true.

Every life form here on earth has different perceptions of seeing, feeling, tasting, smelling and so on.

Snakes don’t rely on their sight. They prefer moving around sensing heat. Not to mention that their vision is like the predator in Arnold Schwarzeneger’s sci-fi movie.

Isn’t it beautiful? We have different stuff going on around us and we all live together in one place. We have choices and that’s what makes life wonderful, mysterious, exciting, painful, delightful and so much more.

Having worked with Manie Magbanua as my director of photography in All About Adam movie pilot, I thought he’s a very loving man to his family. I guess he wants his dogs to see his work and how exciting life seeing different colors and stuff. But who knows? Dogs also feel the same way. They might be having their own major fun party we don’t know of and we may never experience at all.

Manie Magbanua is a great artist. His marvelous work served him right in the entertainment industry. Should I include his international film which was written and directed by Paulo Villaluna and topbilled by Jacky Woo, Joem Bascon and Lovi Poe – Endless Farewell?

Your dogs may not see the colors you paint in your universe but one thing is for certain, they know and feel that you love them so much. And that feeling is very colorful not seen with their own eyes but sensed vibrationally.

Running Late is never too late

PAGILAS, Philippines – Passed fifteen years, Ka Pedro of 99.5 RT opened doors for all rock bands in the underground music scene to get their fifteen minutes of fame on the airwaves. It was a good way to see which bands would make it to the top, gain supporters and sign a record deal from a big time music producer.

Nevertheless, this decade is far different from the way it was before. Every band can have their own official facebook, twitter, stickam and other tools on cyberspace that would assist these respective independent artists in exposing their music to the public.

‘Running Late’ is a pop/punk rock band that is emerging quite noticeably in the music industry.

Pagilas Insider’s Derek Dean got a glimpse of the band and set an interview with their vocalist Jimwel Santillan. According to them, this is their short story on how the band got together.

It’s called a knitted fate, Jimwel and Luke started the band when they were in college. Together with the former members they played several gigs from schools up to concert bars but three years later, two members had to leave. 

Luke had another band (Ayuda Force), he referred Raymond, guitarist of Ayuda Force, (one of our present brother bands) to make few sessions while we didn’t have regular members but eventually he absorbed the position as guitarist. 

Raymond, suggested to have another guitarist and he referred Kristian and after few practices, we absorbed him as our new guitarist. So then, the four piece band was restored. Then the band is now Running Late.

Their personal thoughts, influences, stories of people around them, personal experiences and the unity of the band inspired them to exude good vibrations resulting tremendous amazing original songs that touch the ears, mind, and heart of every listener. At present, the only thing that the band wants is to impart their songs to people who love music and to those who love them.

Their single ‘Bakit Nga Ba’ is addictive in every aspect. It is also the official soundtrack of the romantic comedy film ‘Analysis Overload’ written, produced and directed by Julius Roden. Topbilled by Philipp Dunkel, the star of the smash hit television movie series All About Adam.

Fellow Adam - Michael Ignacio not in All About Adam season one saddens Jeffrey Canlas

PAGILAS, Philippines – Viewers remember him as the cutest singing Adam in the smash hit television movie All About Adam. Yes, it’s Jeffrey Canlas. He could be the most secretive among his co-stars since he doesn’t frequent social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

He prefers reading books and spending time with his family traveling in the United States,  Europe and other Asian countries.

In the movie pilot which was aired on IBC in 2010, Jeffrey Canlas played the character of Josh Jimenez – best friend of Jeremy Cabrera played by Philipp Dunkel.

In 2011, the 22-year-old actor, singer and a nursing graduate from U.E.R.M admitted that he was saddened by Michael Ignacio’s departure. He thought that he was going to work with him in season one.

Like Migui Moreno and Philipp Dunkel, during their script reading for the regular series of All About Adam, he was shocked when the producers told him Drew Smith is not returning for the first season.

However, he was very open to tell his co-stars about his feelings.

‘I just felt sad when Director Julius Roden told me the news. I really thought we were gonna work together in season one. Michael is a cool guy and when we filmed the movie pilot, I knew that the four of us had this brotherhood. It’s just sad.’ he told Pagilas reporter Derek Dean during a one on one interview.

In an interview with the 23-year-old actor, he confirmed that he's filming a movie by the award-winning director Gil Portes. He was delighted when he found out that he got the part because Portes know him from 'All About Adam'.

In 2010, their concert 'Unlocked' was also a big success. Other bands from the underground music scene were front acts.

The thing I like about these bands is that they follow no rules. If you're not a fan of this genre, it could still help you get rid of stress when you're exhausted, angry and frustrated. The vibration of the music will scream and roar for you.

Heavy metal doesn't have a huge market in the Philippines. Thus, movie mogul Julius Roden has collaborated with all of these musicians for projects in the entertainment industry. He believes that the time is now and there are so many musicians who deserve better exposures.

'The time is now and things are about to change around here. These guys are taking over and before you know it, it's there.' Julius Roden opined.

All About Adam moves to TV5?

PAGILAS, Philippines - The television movie pilot 'All About Adam' was very successful way beyond expectation when it aired on IBC in 2010.

This is the very first Filipino movie pilot that absolutely established a landmark with fresh approach on Philippine television.

Typical Filipino drama series air pilot episodes for a week and regular episodes come in the following week. However, All About Adam is a movie pilot for television set to become a regular series after several months just like in the United States.

The story is simple yet brilliant. It's about four bachelors who live together in one house. Each one of them has a story to tell and some tough stuff to deal with. Starring Migui Moreno who plays the character Paulo Morales - a true Pinoy cowboy. Philipp Dunkel as Jeremy Cabrera - the rockstar wannabe, Jeffrey Canlas as Josh Jimenez - the arrogant rich kid and Michael Ignacio as Drew Smith - the gym instructior and sidekick of Paulo Morales.

In the movie pilot, Jeremy and Josh try to get their band sign a record deal with a big time music producer while Drew and Paulo find themselves face to face with a female cop who investigates the suicide case of Christian Jacob (Karlo Manalo) - son of a famous politician and its link to people infected with HIV.

The opening scene was superb. The fight scene of Karlo Manalo who plays Christian Jacob and Norlyn Invento who plays Sergeant Yoga Sabarita shocked the viewers. It was never seen on Philippine television until Julius Roden thought to have it so.

After the movie pilot, it gained fans on social networing sites.

Rumors came out that the creator of the show - Julius Roden, is moving AAA from IBC to GMA but it never happened because some people in the network insist on having local actors from their centre like Dingdong Dantes and Rochelle Pangilinan to be part of the cast. It was also rumored that should 'All About Adam' return to television via GMA 7, the network would want to control the direction of the series and creative inputs. Roden thought it was ridiculous and would damage the integrity of the story and casting.

According to a reliable source that got this info straight from Julius Roden's mouth, airing 'All About Adam' season one on IBC can be done anytime with their original timeslot. However, due to the limited signal of the network in other regions in the Philippines, advertisers like Globe, San Miguel and Krispy Kreme didn't want to support the series. If the show will be aired on GMA 7 or TV5, these major sponsors are with All About Adam. But getting a timeslot on TV5 has been a long wait for Julius Roden for months now since January 2011.

Nevertheless, Julius Roden wants the show to be on TV5. This was due to insistent public demand. Many viewers complained the bad reception of IBC in other regions in the Philippines. In fact, fans have been requesting for a rerun before its first full season begins.

The writer, producer and director of the show keeps mum about the exact date of season one's premiere telecast.

One big fan opined:

'The movie pilot was cool. I love the story. I really want to see them again on television in its regular series. It's taking a little longer since the producer of the show is an independent producer. Besides, even giant television networks with multi-million productions have delays in airing their shows.'

The fans want to watch the season premiere until now. Some clips can be accessed on the internet and it looks promising. Let's all hope that the show is worth the wait.

Julius Roden produces six independent films

PAGILAS, Philippines - Writer, producer and director Julius Roden is enjoying what now is and what now has. Nevertheless, everything is just on the right track.

In 2008, the popcorn horror flick 'Kasambahay' (The Dead's Grin) was the first movie produced in Pagilas Studios. It starred unknown yet respectable actors like Alyne Torres, Lydia Durian, Ross Simbulan and John Paul Rocabo. It was a tribute to old school horror movies that premiered at Cine Adarna making it a good start for the young filmmaker.

He produced the short film 'Daloy' (The Flow) in 2009 which was written and directed by the genius Ron Sapinoso. They tried to join the Cine Manila Festival but for some reason, they didn't make it. So the film was released digitally on cyberspace.

However, in 2010, Julius Roden decided to produce a movie pilot set to become a television series - All About Adam. Topbilled by Migui Moreno, Philipp Dunkel, Jeffrey Canlas, Michael Ignacio and Karlo Manalo. It was aired on IBC and it gained a lot of fans asking for more. Indeed, a smash hit movie pilot that has established its own landmark making a fresh approach to Philippine television.

Roden has already shot several episodes for its first full season and it's been confirmed by our sources that the young writer, producer and director wants to re-air the movie pilot on another network before season one begins.

After all the success, Julius Roden takes Pagilas Studios to the next level by producing six movies for 2011 and 2012 release.

'I love making movies, be it on television or on the big screen. I had a rough time figuring out how to join those independent film festivals, it was tough for me and I was frustrated several years back. Then, I got my clarity and realized there's no need to push myself in being part of it. A true independent filmmaker can be associated with other film organizations without some sort of bond or whatever that is that causes frustration to other young filmmakers. It's a matter of knowing yourself and what you have and what you can do to make it there. I don't need other organization's validation to let the public see me as a filmmaker. I am a filmmaker and I am free to do what I want and I'm actually doing it now. That's what makes me really happy and I'm enjoying every moment of it. Julius Roden stated.

He added, if you really want to think outside the box, make sure you do have that feeling that you're already outside the box when you think outside the box. I know it's confusing to some of you but if you just free your mind, you'll figure it out. You can do anything and I have to admit, we have a lot of advantage nowadays since it's the age of internet. Finally, lucubrating for most young filmmakers is paying off.

In 2011, Julius Roden returns to producing a horror film. But this time, it's not just another popcorn horror flick. According to him, it's a must see movie for all women in the world.

Offense will have its world premiere digitally on cyberspace for Halloween 2011. It stars Charmilyn Mamaradlo, Joseph Izon and Andrew Schimmer.

The other five movies will be released in 2012.

'It's very exciting because many years ago, I really thought I wasn't gonna make it here but here I am and everything I have now is enough and it's the best for me and for the studio. We are all happy. the young director smiled.

Karlo Manalo on Smart Mobile Internet

PAGILAS, Philippines - The star of the smash hit television movie 'All About Adam' - Karlo Manalo is the latest image model of Smart Mobile internet.

The world we live in now jives with cyber age. Everything we do, we take pictures, we go on vacations, we shop, we meet with friends, we have interviews, everything, it's all over the internet through social networking sites.

Television programs can be accessed on the internet as well. According to Karlo Manalo, Smart Mobile internet is really fast and he is able to upload all his photos online and update his followers on Twitter even when he's filming or out on vacation.

Sasha Mortel asked the hunk actor on what he thinks about too much exposure of one's privacy on social networking sites particularly facebook.

You know, it's interesting that you asked me that question. I'm a very private person but I get to update my fans with my upcoming shows and movies. You see, it all depends on the person. Even if you're a celebrity, you can still control the information you post on the internet. We need to be extra careful of doing this because there are a lot of frauds happening on cyberspace. You don't wanna be like their victims, do you? So I guess, it's a matter of controling the information you upload. Karlo opined.

We also asked him about the return of All About Adam on television.

Our producer and director Julius Roden is working it out. I can't speak for that right now. I know that they're doing some sort of negotiations with the network. Patience is a virtue. he grinned.

So, aside from All About Adam season one and Smart Mobile internet, what other things are you doing this year?

I'm doing a film with Charmilyn Mamaradlo (All About Adam) and Khalid Gunting. It's a progressive horror film written, produced and directed by Julius Roden. We're filming this year but it's coming out in 2012. I'm so excited about this film. he share with us.
